Job Description:

This Job Description may be adjusted by the Headteacher according to the changing needs of the school. This post is subject to the conditions of employment contained in the Jebel Ali School contract and to work in line with new COVID guidelines in supporting students and staff.

Inclusion learning assistants in collaboration with the SENCO support the class teachers in meeting the needs, educational and social, of all children at Jebel Ali School.

Job Responsibilities:

• Helping students to concentrate on and complete work set.
• To establish a supportive relationship with the students concerned.
• To use methods of promoting and reinforcing the students’ self esteem.
• Ensuring the student is able to use necessary equipment.
• Developing appropriate resources to support the student/s.
• To develop an understanding of the specific needs of the students to be supported.
• To manage students as advised by the SENCo and subject teacher.
• Motivating and encouraging the student/s.
• To carry out specific duties as outlined in the students’ passports.
• To ensure the safety of students within your care.
• Assisting in the management of students’ social interactions and behaviour.
• Assisting in specific areas of weakness, such as speech and language or writing tasks.
• To aid the students to learn as effectively as possible in a whole class setting, group setting and as an individual.
• Clarifying and explaining instructions.
• To develop knowledge of a range of learning support needs relevant to the school.
• To establish acceptance and inclusion of students in the classroom.

Job Requirements:

• Must be on spouse or dependent visaPrevious experience within an Inclusion/Learning Support department
• Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive approach to both individual and collaborative professional development.
