Job Description:

The Finance Manager will provide financial, analytical, and decision-making support to senior manufacturing management. The Manager will develop an understanding of the business drivers, analyze and clearly communicate financial implications of the changing production environment, build effective relationships with the business unit leaders, and communicate financial results and direction to client groups. This position will interact with all manufacturing functions as well as corporate finance and will take ownership of expense models used for latest estimates, annual planning and long-range planning activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support finance leadership and functional teams with ad hoc requests and special projects
    Prepare, analyze and convey financial results for the site to business leaders.
  • Understand expense variances, resolve discrepancies and collaborate with appropriate staff to ensure processes are in place to handle changes in the business
  • Lead financial expense planning processes such as the monthly close, quarterly forecasting, and annual planning activities including headcount, operating expense and capital investments by working closely with internal and external partners to support strategic planning and operational decision making
  • Document analysis and related-work flow activities to insure accurate support and standardized procedures
  • Execute product standard costing, calculate cost of good manufactured (COGM) and cost per unit (CPU)
  • Lead efficiency initiatives and have a detailed understanding of lean concepts to decrease waste

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills, strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, a detailed mastery of corporate finance concepts and critical thinking. Ability to analyze data and present results to senior management in a professional, clear and concise manner
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work with minimum direction to provide leadership and key support on multiple projects
  • Formulate and clearly deliver complex information, issues and recommendations both written and oral to leadership team
  • Develop and use sophisticated financial models to facilitate decision making

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of Finance or Accounting experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance or Accounting experience
  • Cost Accounting experience with Standard Costing development, Cost of Good Manufacturing reporting and Cost per Unit calculations
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis roles
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion and/or other large ERP and consolidation tools
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Finance or Accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Finance or Accounting experience
