Job Description:
As a Barclays Senior Analyst, within Tech Run-The-Bank you’ll be part of a global team that is at the heart of the business, helping to power Barclays, pioneering new processes, products and services through our technology, operations, and business functions. Job Responsibilities:
- Working to build and maintain the next generation monitoring tools for Reference Data systems focusing on intelligent alerting with a business context
- Partnering with development teams to migrate systems to Amazon Web Services, feeding in non-functional requirements during the Software Development Lifecycle
- Identifying and implementing continuous service improvements to exceed business expectations
- Acting as an Automation Champion, driving the elimination of recurring manual activities from the environment
- You will be responsible for transitioning commoditised support tasks into the shared services function
- Collaborating with other IT Teams to coordinate successful delivery of high profile market events including, Options Expiry, Russell Rebalance and Disaster Recovery Testing
Job Requirements:
- Passion for learning new technologies and the businesses they support
- Subject matter expertise in either an application or engineering domain and a technical expert in at least one technology
- Knowledge of managing complex batch environments (Autosys)
- Technical knowledge of servers (Unix/Windows) and middleware (Solace/MQ)
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience and technical knowledge of Relational Databases, in particular MSSQL & Oracle, including stored procedures and optimisation
- Experience of managing continuous improvement initiatives including automation and monitoring tools, with great communication and organisational skills
- Experience in supporting Financial Markets applications or their underlying infrastructure
- Previous experience of partnering with external market data providers (e.g. Bloomberg/Reuters) to find common technical solutions
