Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining and modifying, as per process requirement, Rolling Mills Level 1 Automation system including the hardware and software and to ensure the smooth functionality of Level 1 Automation system in accordance with Rolling Mill Process requirement along with integration to Level 2 system to the correct standard safely and in a timely manner so that plant utilization is maximized.
Job Responsibilities:
- National Development Program: Assist in developing U.A.E. national trainees / employees to prepare them ready for acquiring targeted positions in line with IDP developed as per company policies.
- System availability: Ensure system availability by maintaining level 1 system hardware and software (Drives, PLCs, HMIs, CNC machines etc.).
- Development: The Level 1 automation engineer needs to constantly focus on development and improvement of the system.
- Work Planning: Review daily electrical and production reports, a
- Level 2 integration: Adapt Rolling Mills Level 1 software interface to match with Level 2 requirements. Create & maintain new database to match Level 2 requirements.
- Performance Review: Review outstanding jobs and trend analyses on a weekly basis to address underlying reasons for service non-compliance and put in place appropriate action plans to effect correction.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Directs, maintain and follow ESI Integrated Management System procedures and guide lines.
- Software back-up & Historical data: Maintain the latest software back up for level 1 automation systems for Rolling Mills. Ensure historical data backup and security. Database regular back-up.
- Budgeting: Prepare data and reports to input into the annual budgeting process so that the company is aware of its likely costs in the Level 1 automation activities.
Job Requirements:
- Fully conversant with Siemens S7 programming and debugging.
- Fair knowledge of electrical and Instrumentation systems of Rolling Mill process.
- In-depth knowledge of Level 1 Automation systems related to Rolling Mill process.
- Bacheloer in Degree or Engineering
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP, and instruct others on its operation.
- In excess of 8 years’ Electrical automation experience in Rolling Mill. Including 5 years as Level 1 Automation engineer in a Rolling Mill.
