Yum! is looking for a Software Engineer to add to our dynamic and rapidly scaling team. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a development team and work with Product Owner, QA Engineers, and fellow Software Engineers in the analysis, design, development, test, deployment, and support of custom applications. This position requires an intrinsically motivated problem solver with attention to detail and expertise in coding, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex systems. You will be expected to come up with solutions to minor enhancements and issues independently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate a variety of software products, techniques and alternatives
  • Provide technical support to teammates through coaching and mentorship as required
  • Support development efforts towards successful project delivery while adhering to high-quality development principles to effect delivery of solutions on-time and on-budget
  • Package and support deployment of releases
  • Interface with application users and other contractors to ensure the successful integration, testing and transition of the application to operations
  • Responsible for supporting an agile team in the development, testing, and publishing of robust and stable, native and cloud-based software
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, estimates and roadmaps/plans

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Published native android apps in your portfolio
  • Experience working with SQLite and/or other embedded databases
  • Experience with Android unit testing frameworks
  • Experience developing with standard Android libraries like RxJava, Dagger, Retrofit, Butterknife, ect.
  • Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, including high level components (activities, fragments, services) and AndroidX components
  • Understanding and/or experience with Kotlin
  • Experience with Mobile application design patterns (MVP, MVVM)
  • Experience consuming RESTful services
