Job Description:

The Director of Detection Operations will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, implementing, and managing the technology responsible for the interconnected Intel-Detect-Analyze-Respond ecosystem; ultimately you will ensure United is doing everything possible to improve the security posture of United Airlines by keeping our customers and employees safe, as well as helping secure the connected aviation ecosystem from real world threats.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Detection Operations team
  • Attract, Hire, and Retain top talent for the organization
  • Coach and mentor individuals at all levels of the organization, demonstrating tangible results and growth in your people
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of acohesive and up to date architecture for detecting adversaries
  • Identify opportunities to leverage and operationalize existing security investments while also identifying gaps in our defenses and recommending new technologies
  • Define and develop metrics program to track maturity, evolution, and health of the program over time
  • Work with external stakeholders such as law enforcement, cyber insurers, lawyers and more, as needed
  • Create and define interlocks between internal and external stakeholders and ensure those interlocks remain in working order and are tested over time

Job Requirements:

  • Expert level understanding of all aspects of the interconnected Intel-Detect-Analyze-Respond ecosystem to include Detection Technologies, Intelligence, Communication, Incident Response, Attack Lifecycles and much more
  • Industry certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, CISA, GCIH, CFCE, GFCA, and/or GCFE
  • Develop and execute roadmaps for cybersecurity initiatives; prevent, manage, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents; identify, analyze, and resolve problems; superior communication skills (including to non-technical audiences); high emotional intelligence; agility

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of enterprise-level incident response experience, with management experience
