Job Description:

Security Operations Manager: The SOM plays the key role during the event operations period by managing the event security program for all Company activations in-country, and working with the contracted security vendor to ensure that staffing levels are met and officers perform their duties properly and effectively. The SOM establishes performance expectations, assesses the security staff on their performance, coordinates the procurement and allocation of ad-hoc security resources for all programs that may be required to address operational changes, specific threats or the overall security posture. The SOM maintains close relationships with key external agencies and internal managers to ensure that existing and developing security risks are managed appropriately. They also coordinate with the SEM/SSM to manage the event security budget and related resource allocation plans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing and administering a vetting process for Company associates and contractors associated with event operations as required for sensitive positions (i.e. Youth Programs).
  • Representing Strategic Security concerning issues related to the Incident Management Crisis Resolution plan for the Company’s event programs. Participate in the development of internal IMCR risk assessments and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinating necessary logistical arrangements to support SSD personnel deployed during the operating period.
  • Preparing risk assessments for event activations.
  • Identifying, validating qualifications, and recommend vendors to support security operations. Negotiate contracts for private security services and authorize payment against contractual agreements. Coordinate all aspects of acquiring public and private security support for asset protection and related functions.
  • Developing a detailed project plan and budget for the project team. Administer the project plan adjusting timing and sequencing of security components to meet project team milestones and deadlines. Administer approved project budget consistent with Company guidelines.
  • Providing briefings on security issues and program developments to local project managers and corporate functional managers. Provide regular progress reports and program updates to SSD.
  • Providing operational assistance in planning and activating the Company’s event coordination center. Organize and administer the security component of the coordination center.
  • Designing operational plans that address general and specific risks to Company operations. Continuously monitor threat indicators and modify security plans to address changes that may affect the Company’s event security posture.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with various law enforcement agencies and/or military representatives, and the organizing committee security department concerning event security issues. Local sponsorship security entities should also be identified for further collaboration as appropriate.
