Job Description:

An exciting opportunity to join our Loss Prevention Team as a Data Mining Specialist on a permanent basis. The Specialist will assist in the delivery of data mining reporting strategy, providing reports to the Loss Prevention team, making things simpler for our colleagues to enable them to carry out effective investigations on fraudulent transactions taking place in stores.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing the data required to give Loss Prevention colleagues and Store management the confidence and expertise required to prosecute fraudulent behaviours.
  • Analyse any data requested and provide insight and recommendations based on findings
  • Being the key contact for the field team and a subject matter expert in transactional data to enable investigations to be resolved in a swift & conclusive result first time round
  • Reviewing all reports on a periodic basis to ensure the data mining strategy is fulfilling its full potential and provide insight into new reporting ideas.
  • Assisting in the execution of the data mining strategy to ensure all plans are delivered
  • Providing evidence and packs to allow speedy and effective identification and prosecution of theft and fraud
  • Ensuring quick turnarounds of data and exert responses to the Audit and Investigation, HR and GM population to allow investigations to flow effectively.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent PC Skills including Excel and knowledge of Business Intelligence or other data manipulation and reporting software
  • Working knowledge of P.A.C.E.
  • Cash and payment systems, procedure and process
  • Customer focussed with a positive attitude
  • An Analyst with a great attention for detail
  • Data analysis and investigation to draw accurate conclusions
  • Must be highly organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Ability to prioritise & flex to the changing needs of the business
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships to resolve issues quickly

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience of crime and fraud investigations (Highly desirable)
  • Experience of case recording and management (Highly desirable)
  • Experience of working in fast paced environment with lots of change
  • Experience of remote direction of investigations (Highly desirable)
